Mission Weavers & Spinners Guild
To bring together people who enjoy weaving & spinning and to inform, learn from and inspire eachother at monthly meetings. It promotes educates, encourages, inspires and improves the skills of our members in spinning weaving, dyeing, felting and knitting.
Our 'Loom Room' at Trendy or what Knot Yarns & Gifts
Find unique hand made gifts at our Loom Room, open Mondays from 1:00pm-5:00pm and Tuesday-Saturday from 10am-5pm. Simply go through the store to the back room.
Handwoven, hand spun, hand knitted and hand made items made by MWSG members are for sale. You can frequently find a guild member demonstrating weaving on our big 62" loom, our 42" loom, or on our table looms or spinning fibers on our spinning wheels.
Everyone is welcome to become a member of our guild! No previous experience in weaving or spinning is necessary.
Membership costs $25 per year.
The members of the Mission Weavers and Spinners Guild meet every 4th Monday of the month at Trendy or what Knot Yarns & Gifts, 33118A First Avenue in Mission at the 'Loom Room' with the exception of July & August.
Equipment & Library
Members of the MWSG can borrow equipment like spinning wheels, carders, table looms and more, and make use of our extensive library.
Classes and workshops
We offer beginners workshops for weaving and spinning. Please check the schedule for availability.
The official District of Mission Tartan
The MWSG has designed the official tartan for the District of Mission. The tartan has been registered with The Scottish Register of Tartans (see here). The fabric is woven at a Scottish Mill and can be bought per meter. Guild members also hand weave the tartan design into blankets, placemats and scarves.
