Our Mission

Our mission is to unite individuals who share a passion for weaving and spinning, fostering a community where we can learn from and inspire one another through our monthly meetings. Our guild is dedicated to promoting and advancing the arts of spinning, weaving, dyeing, felting, and other fibre arts. We strive to educate, encourage, and enhance the skills of our members, creating an environment of growth and creativity.

Our LoomRoom at Trendy or what Knot Yarns & Gifts

**Discover Unique Handmade Gifts at the LoomRoom**

Visit our LoomRoom, open Mondays through Saturdays from 10am to 5pm, and explore a variety of one-of-a-kind gifts crafted by MWSG members. To find us, simply walk through our yarn store.

In our LoomRoom, you’ll find an array of handwoven, hand-spun, hand-knitted, and other handmade treasures. You may also catch a guild member in action, demonstrating their craft on our large 62" loom, our 42" loom, or our table looms, or spinning fibers on our spinning wheels.

Membership

Everyone is welcome to become a member of our guild! No previous experience in weaving or spinning is necessary, we're here to teach!
Membership costs $35 per year (Jan-Dec). Sign up here

Our meetings

The members of the Mission Weavers and Spinners Guild meet every 4th Monday of the month at
the common room at the Leisure Centre on Grand St., except for June (potluck at Fraser River Heritage Park),  July & August (summer break), November (potluck at Trendy or what Knot Yarns), and December (holiday break). 

Equipment & Library

Members of the MWSG can borrow equipment like spinning wheels, carders, table looms and more, and use our extensive library.

Classes and workshops

We offer beginners' workshops for weaving and spinning.

The official Mission City Tartan

The MWSG has designed the official tartan for the City of Mission. The tartan has been registered with The Scottish Register of Tartans (see here). The fabric is woven at a Scottish Mill and can be bought per meter ($85/m). Guild members also hand-weave the tartan design into blankets, placemats, towels, and scarves.
